Homework Tips when reading:

What Parents Can do!

  1. When your child reads aloud & makes a mistake, point out the words he/she missed & help them read the word correctly.
  2. To check your child’s understanding of the story occasionally pause & ask them questions about the characters & events in the story.
  3. Before getting to the end of the story ask your child what will happen next & why.
  4. Ask your child to explain in his/her own words what happened in the story.
